Step 1: Attend a Mandatory Information Session

Before applying, all students must attend an Information Session to learn about admission requirements, curriculum, clinical experiences, and the application process.

Location: Virtual (Zoom links will be sent 24 hours ahead of the session) & In-Person (Danvers Campus).
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours.
Attendance: Arrive on time! Late arrivals (10+ minutes) will not be admitted and must attend a future session. Attendance will be recorded.

Step 2: Complete the Application

Submit the Selective Admissions Application for the year you are applying (previous applications do not count).

Step 3: Write & Submit Your Essay

Upload your word-processed essay with your application. The essay should be approximately 1-2 pages in length and must answer all questions. 

Prompt: What led you to an interest in the field of funeral service?

• What do you feel you can contribute to this profession that is unique?
• Why do you feel you would be a good candidate for the funeral services program at 快猫app?

Step 4: Submit Transcripts

All official transcripts from previous colleges/universities must be sent directly to 快猫app. If you鈥檝e already submitted transcripts, you must send updated ones if you鈥檝e completed additional coursework.

Step 5: Demonstrate Proficiency

Upload documentation to your application. Communications & Mathematics Proficiency can be demonstrated in multiple ways:

• SAT scores
• Accuplacer tests
• High school GPA
• College coursework

Step 6: Submit High School Transcript or GED

Upload your high school transcript or GED score report. If you submitted this within the last 5 years, confirm with SelectiveAdmissions@northshore.edu.

Additional Requirements

Submit a Detailed Resume

Include:

• Professional experience
• Volunteer experience
• Education
• Membership to professional organizations 
• Any funeral home experience (if applicable)

Submit a Letter of Recommendation

Applicants must submit ONE letter of recommendation. It is strongly preferred that the letter be from a licensed funeral professional or similar field. Enter the name and email of your reference into your application and a direct link to upload a letter of recommendation will be sent directly to them. (Your application will not be complete and able to be submitted until this has been entered).

NOTE: Students applying for admission to 快猫app Funeral Service associate degree program should contact their respective state licensing agency regarding that state agency鈥檚 approval of this particular program of instruction.
